Musculoskeletal trauma simplified - A casebook to aid diagnosis and management

All specialities dealing with bone trauma are frequently confronted with plain film radiographs. Fracture lines on plain films can be subtle and difficult to identify, especially for the doctor in training who, in practice, often is the one who examines the patient and the plain films, and is challenged with its interpretation and the further patient management.A huge variety of textbooks exists for all involved disciplines like radiology, orthopedic surgery, and emergency surgery. Most of these books assist in acquiring theoretical knowledge and support those with a certain level of experience. However, they are too advanced for those with limited basic knowledge and a low level of clinical experience. For this group, simple images together with the link to daily practice and explanations are needed to form a fundamental base of knowledge and to improve daily practice.
