Photographing bees on their turf is not an easy task. As I look up over the top of my camera I'm suddenly filled with a sense of peace as a honey bee lands on the flower in front of me. I've been lying, waiting in the same position for nearly an hourin the hopes that bee, flower and timing will all come together to form the perfect scene for me to catch on film. Photographing bees in their natural environment is not an easy task to perform, To the average person a honey bee's actions are sporadic and unpredictable at best and for a photographer this can be a nightmare. As always though, in photography, the more you know about a subject the easier it becomes to photograph.
