Chinese petroleum coke imports in October fell to their lowest levels in nearly two years because of quiet demand and limited supply during the summer when cargoes arriving last month would have been booked. Imports of green and calcined coke fell to around 177,000t, down by 56pc from the previous month and 58pc from a year earlier. High-sulphur imports were particularly under pressure, with the country taking just 74,000t of green coke with more than 3pc sulphur compared with more than 99,000t of less than 3pc sulphur green coke.
