Chinese coke imports drop to 2017 low in August

Chinese petroleum coke imports dropped to their lowest monthly total so far this year in August, as India reclaimed market share, total US exports fell and low-sulphur fuel-grade coke demand declined. China received a little under 318,000t of green and cal-cined coke from all destinations in the month. This was 34pc lower than a month earlier and almost 67pc lower than June, when imports had reached their highest total in almost four years.
