China's Sep coking coal imports drop 6% from Aug, with Australia's inflow sliding 34%

Singapore—China’s coking coal imports dropped 6.33% month on month to 6.72 million mt in September, following a sharp fall in the inflow from suppliers such as Australia and Canada, customs data released Oct. 26 showed. Imports from Australia plunged 34.28% month on month to 1.98 million mt in September, and were down 38.76% year on year. A similar decline was seen for Canadian imports into China, which fell 32.26% month on month to 309,914 mt in September, down 39.61% year on year.
