Incompatibility between thermocompressor size and syphon design results in energy waste, operational problems, and poor dryer drainage control. Because thermo-compressors are typically oversized and syphon systems are operated at higher differential pressure than required, thermocompressors can consume up to twice the motive steam actually needed.
