Advice for SMEs in the clean energy sector

The clean energy sector went through an uncertain 2013 with many projects coming to a standstill. There is still uncertainty in the sector, but projects should progress in 2014 with more work for local suppliers. There are significant opportunities for Australian industry, especially SMEs, in the renewable energy sector. Australian SMEs contribute significant componentry and are involved in the establishment of the facilities such as power lines, roads and buildings. Inputs required include earthworks, transport, the installation of equipment (for example, wind towers and frames for solar panels), cranes, electrical installation and all other capabilities to bring the project to an operational stage. This can also include engineering services and consultancies for EIS (environmental impact statements).
