Pemex has launched an international tender for the charter of five rigs, including three deepwater semisubmersible units that will spearhead its exploration of virgin territory in the Gulf of Mexico.The Mexican major said yesterday that one of the semisub units must be able to operate in a minimum water depth of 3,000ft (914m) and have the capacity to drill to a minimum depth of 25,000ft (7,620m).
