Petrobras plans Brazil cluster

Petrobras has a new cluster development on the drawing board in a frontier region of the Santos Basin off Brazil after recent confirmation of its latest ultra-deepwater discovery in the vicinity.The upbeat operator has already accelerated its exploration programme based on the promising results from its light oil discovery in Block BM-S-11, revealed earlier this year. The Tupi well, drilled in 6,975ft (2,126m) of water, flowed 4,900 b/d of 30° gravity crude and 4.3 MMcf/d of gas from a deep presalt reservoir through a 5/8-inch choke with stabilised pressure. Tupi is said to be a large structure with "significant reserves potential".
