REPORT ON EASTERN REGION AGM

The Eastern Region AGM took place on Thursday 23 January at the Lamb Hotel & Lighthouse Business Centre in Ely and was well attended by over 25 members, with seven apologies. The apologies were primarily due to the Cambridge v Man Utd match (what a boring 0-0 stalemate and standing in the freezing cold)! The AGM convened at the Lighthouse Business Centre to confirm membership of the regional committee 'from those previously nominated' and to confirm the regional officers for the coming year. President, Michael Wadood, was in attendance as was CABE Deputy Chief Executive (Technical), Kevin Blunden, who both provided engaging presentations, which were both encouraging and fascinating. As there had been no standings for third parties Michael announced the committee for the New Year as unopposed members being David Taylor (Chairman) Edward Philips (Secretary) and Steve Kelly (Treasurer), and this was well received by members in attendance. To my total surprise Michael also went on to mention my future nominated position of Vice-President Elect which was quite an honourable moment, but one I am very proud to receive.
