Optimal timing for reperfusion can get large area myocardial salvage of jeopardized myocardium, which is important to the recovery of regional and global cardiac function after STEMI [ 1,2 ]. However, in clinic, not all patients with STEMI can receive early reperfusion therapy, Without this therapy, the patients would have serious consequences because of the large number of stunned and ischemic myocardium [3,4]. In the last 10 years, many studies have indicated that the mobilization of stem cells stimulates the myogenesis and angio-genesis in the infarcted area and improves heart function [5-9]. In this study, we investigated the efficacy of early mobilization of stem cells by GM-CSF in STEMI patients with 60-month of follow-up of the left ventricular function and remodeling, in the consideration of the large number of STEMI patients who can not receive early reperfusion.
