The problem of finite bimaterial plates with anedge crack along the interface is studied. A complex variableboundary element method is presented and applied to determinethe stress intensity factor for finite bimaterial plates. Using thepseudo-orthogonal characteristic of the eigenfunction expansionforms and the well-known Bueckner work conjugate integral andtaking the different complex potentials as auxiliary fields, theinterfacial stress intensity factors associated with the physicalstress-displacement fields are evaluated. The effects of materialproperties and crack geometry on stress intensity factors areinvestigated. The numerical examples for three typical specimenswith six different combinations of the bimaterial are given.
