Pledging the health of the nation's children

The second annual report of the Children and Young People's Health Outcomes Forum (CYPHOF) for 2014/15 was published in March 2015 (Department of Health (DH),2015). The CYPHOF was established in January 2012 and convened as an expert reference group made up of key informants from across child sector agencies. The primary mission of the group was to offer expertise, and report on the best evidence to underpin contemporary advice on how best to meet the challenges of improving the health of the nation's children and young people. Primarily this initiative is aimed at promoting optimum care delivery to children and young people. This second report prospectively seeks to consider what steps the government should now take to continue to purposefully address and make improvements to child health. Theme groups, covering the key challenges identified in the Forum's first annual report (DH, 2014), have undertaken a significant proportion of this work. The second annual report reflects a number of theme group reports that delineate key questions and challenges pertinent to the health of children and young people and contain examples of good practice (DH, 2015).
