At normal ambient temperature blood glucose level (BGL), serum acid phosphatase (SACP), serum alkaline phosphatase (SALP) and serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) activity were lower in Desi than in Khaki Campbell ducks. All 3 enzyme activities werelower in male than in female. At high environmental temperature, SACP did not vary between sexes. BGL increased at high and decreased at low ambient temperature. SALP and SACP decreased at high and increased at low ambient temperature. The findings arediscussed in relation to heat stress.
