Enzyme shows prognostic potential for breast cancer

A protein that could help to predict the prognosis of breast cancer has been identified recently using bioinformatics techniques. In a study published in Molecular CellBiology, Elizaveta Benevolenskaya and colleagues from the University of Chicago (IL, USA) have described how the EZH2 could be a useful marker to predict the aggressiveness of breast cancer and thus stratify patients at an early stage.The researchers observed that EZH2 controls the expression of more than 1200 genes that are associatec with the development of aggressive breast cancer.
