Efficacy of levamisole and albendazole against naturally acquired gastrointestinal nematodiasis of pigs

Gastrointestinal (GI) nematode infections are insidious in nature with a long residual effect and are potential source of economic losses of pig husbandry in India. Reports are available on the efficacy of albendazole and levamisole against gastrointestinal nematodes of pigs (Zhang et al., 1985; Theodorides and Rew. 1988), but wide variations exist in efficacies of these drugs against gastrointestinal nematodiasis of pigs. Present study was undertaken to record the efficacy of these drugs against naturally occurring GI nematodiasis in pigs maintained in Nagaland.
