The following article is reprinted from Highlights 2002, a publication of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology. The researchers assessed the viability of vitrified in vitro-derived buffalo embryos by postthaw hatching after vitrification and in vivo by births of calves after nonsurgical transfer to recipient animals in the project "Production of high genetic water buffaloes through the use of recent reproductive biotechniques.
