Revved up transport fuel use boosts UK petroleum demand

LONDON (ICIS)--The UK used more transport fuels in 2015 versus 2014, driven by a stronger demand for diesel including biofuels, provisional annual data from the UK’s energy department showed on Thursday. Use of transport fuels was up 1.6%, thanks to a 4.3% lift in sales of DERV (diesel including biofuels) countering a 2% drop in motor spirit consumption, according to the Department of Energy and Climate Change statistics.
