FAKMERS and agricultural engineers have called for the machinery sector to adopt uniform standards for wheel-track spacings on farm equipment to assist producers make the move into controlled traffic (CT) farming. The 'tramlines' of a CT farming layout require the wheel-track spacings on all machines to be the same. But, wheel-track widths differ markedly across a range of commercially available farming implements from cultivators, planters and sprayers to harvesters.
