We all scream for ice-cream, and for one New York City artist that's music to her ears. And tongue.Lickestra is a musical performance that uses ice-cream as the instrument (above).Developed by artist Emilie Blatz with the help of designer Carla Diana and musician Arone Dyer, Lickestra works by wiring up four 3D-printed ice-cream cones to a computer.Each time the ice-cream inside the cone is licked, sound is emitted from a speaker. The performers can alter the nature of the sound with their licking style.Lickestra is currently performing in New York city, with a tour in the works.The ice-cream for the performances is provided by New York's Big Gay Ice Cream Company.
