When the forest industry in New Brunswick recoiled following the collapse of the U.S. real estate bubble and shuddered as the world teetered on the edge of a financial collapse, Larry Doherty followed his instincts and sold off some forestry equipment, scaling down to his Timberjack harvester and forwarder team. Doherty' s harvest contracting business began 21 years ago, extending across southern New Brunswick, and serving mills in New Brunswick and Maine. In addition to supplying round-wood to mills in those two areas, he has also had a chipping operation and managed a wood storage and transfer yard operation in Sussex for a U.S. mill.
