Oil and gas sector faces strikes

Australia’s oil and gas industry is brac-ing for industrial action by supply ship operators that could cripple the industry, just as the next wave of LNG projects fight to contain costs. The Maritime Union of Australia(MUA) is gearing up for industrial action within the next month,after a year of nego-tiations with employer group Australian Mines and Metals Association(AMMA) failed to produce a new workplace agree-ment.The union has started organising its members to ballot for industrial action.
