Norway braces for possible oil sector strike

London—Norway braced Wednesday for an oil and gas strike that would hit both production and exploration, as unions and employers entered last ditch mediation talks with a government-appointed official. Three unions which threatened action after wage talks broke down in May have previously indicated that mostly exploration offshore Norway would be hit, but more recently one union targeted specific production installations as well.
