Japan’s LNG imports fell by 5pc in September from a year earlier to 6.9mn t, on reduced demand from the country’s main utilities. Japan cut supplies from the Middle East by 20.4pc to 1.7mn t, while receipts from Russia and Asia- Pacific were down by 23.6pc and by 3.9pc, respectively, at 541,000t and 2mn t, preliminary finance ministry data show. The US delivered no LNG cargoes to Japan. It exported a 55,000t consignment in September last year.
