Upgrade delays warning

Surgutneftegaz and Gazprom have secured the government’s permission to delay their refinery modernisation plans, the deputy director of technical watch- dog Rostekhnadzor, Svetlana Rodionova, said on 15 December. Surgutneftegaz will finish an isomer- isation unit at its 350,000 b/d Kirishi plant in 2017, not 2016 as first hoped. And Gazprom will delay finishing a 480,000 t/yr isomerisation unit at its 254,000 b/d Salavat plant to mid-2016.
