ExxonMobil drilling off Romania

ExxonMobil and Romanian oil group Petrom, controlled by Austria's OMV, have started drilling their first deepwater well in the Romanian section of the Black Sea. The Domino-1 well, at the 9,900km2 Neptun block, is 170km from shore in around 1,000m of water and will be drilled from the Deepwater Champion, a vessel built in South Korea that was previously used off the Turkish coast, Petrom says.
