In the future, if India produces coal more than the indigenous demand the coal customers will be more selective in coal procurement. Under this situation producers have to compete with each other for market share and the coal supply agreement shall constitute an effective marketing device. The successful coal companies will be those who respond positively, creatively, flexibly and promptly to the needs of the utility customers. A customer will be satisfied only when he will receive his desired coal in the ample time in his marked destination(s) with the required quantity and quality at the free market competitive price without any contractual and process oriented troubles.
