Kanebo is continuing negotiations with interested parties on the sale of its acrylic fibre plant in Japan,although industry sources have expressed doubts over whether Kanebo will be able to offload its assets successfully.The company had announced in early August that it would stop production at its 31 000 tonne/year acrylic fibre plant in Yamaguchi,and its acrylic fibre spinning unit at Hikone by the end of this year.
