Capacity growth in the Canadian oil sands is likely to flatten faster than expected,Canadian energy consultancy Ceri says.Nameplate capacity will remain below 2mn b/d until after 2013,Ceri says in a new survey.Project postponements and cancellations caused by the credit freeze and weak margins prompted the institute to update scenarios published late last year(AGM,1 December,p3).The new economic slowdown model now best reflects reality,it says.
