Fortescue to develop 300-MW green ammonia and fertiliser factory in Kenya

Kenya and Australia-based Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) have agreed to develop a 300MW green ammonia and fertiliser factory using a rich geothermal field near the Rift Valley town of Naivasha, where several industrial parks are planned. FFI is the green energy unit of Fortescue Metals Group, the world’s fourth-largest iron ore producer. The parties have also agreed, as part of the project’s scope, to include the supply of green electricity to the East African country’s grid.
