Larsen & Toubro Contracted to Build Six Electrical Substations for ADWEA

Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) has awarded a contract worth Dh 346.68 million (94.5 million) to the Indian company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the construction of six 33/11-kV electrical substations in the al-Ain region.The contract provides for L&T to fabricate and install the substations in accordance with the specifications of the project consultant,Mott MacDonald.The contract also covers the design and construction of buildings and the laying of over 120 km of 33-kV cables.All the work is scheduled for completion in 18 months.Each substation will incorporate gas-insulated 33-kV switchgear,air-insulated 11-kV switchgear,15 MVA,33/11-kV transformers and associated equipment.
