Hydrocarbon Export Earnings Could Exceed US40 Billion in 2005

Algeria's hydrocarbon export earnings in the first nine months of 2005 totaled US32 billion,according to the Minister of Energy and Mines,Mr.Chakib Khelil.That figure is already greater than that for the 12 months of 2004,when Algerian hydrocarbon exports were worth US31.5 billion.If oil prices remain more or less at their current level,which is quite likely,export revenues - including the share reverting to foreign companies - should exceed US40 billion in 2005,shattering last year's record.
