C-130Hs GROUNDED BY PROPELLER BARREL DEFECTS

The Air Force has started to return some of its 116 grounded C-130H mobility aircraft to flying status, but cautioned the process for getting the remainder back in the air will be slow. The service grounded most of its older C-130H Hercules cargo planes and variants Sept. 27 after cracks were found in a few planes' older propeller barrel assemblies As of Oct. 14, two C-130Hs had been returned to service, but Air Mobility Command says it does not intend to provide further updates due to security concerns.
