Algiers Intends to Organize More Tenders for Developing Long-Term Energy Partnerships

In an interview with Algerie Presse Service (APS), the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mr. Youcef Yousfi, explained that his priorities were to step up the national exploration effort to increase Algeria's oil and gas reserves, introduce and develop renewable energies, ensure the availability of hydrocarbons over the very long term, and diversify the energy sources used in power generation. Mr. Yousfi stressed the need for long-term energy partnerships based on a long-term vision. With that in mind, Algeria intends to "multiply" the tenders it organizes "while remaining attentive to the development of the conditions that have to be met and being in a position to attract potential investors."
