Memorandum of Understanding Reportedly Signed with EGPC and Edison for the Development of the Abu Qir Tract

The managements of Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and the Italian company Edison have reportedly signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) covering the formation of a partnership for the development of the gas fields located on the offshore Abu Qir tract, according to the local newspaper Al Masry Al Youm. EGPC had announced in 2007 that it was looking for partners for this project, and at the beginning of 2008 Edison already seemed to be the best placed.
