SPC Has Reportedly Approved the Fourth Refinery and Clean Fuels Projects

At a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, Sheikh Nasser Mohammed al-Sabah, on 27 June, the Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC) reportedly approved three major oil sector projects, according to Al Seyessah. They are: an increase in the wages of oil industry employees; the construction of a fourth refinery at a cost of around KD 4.5 billion ($16.4 billion); and the Clean Fuels Project, entailing an upgrade of two of Kuwait's three existing refineries at a cost of KD 4 billion. The SPC has reportedly asked Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) to implement these projects as quickly as possible within the budgets laid down.
