Apicorp Reports a 168% Jump in Profits in the First 11 Months of 2005

The Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (Apicorp) earned a "record profit" in the first 11 months of 2005.Following a meeting of its board of directors in Bahrain on 29 December,the company announced a spectacular 168% jump in its operating earnings in January-November 2005 relative to the corresponding period of 2004.That extraordinarily sharp rise is mainly attributable to the capital gain arising from the sale of Apicorp's shareholding in Egyptian Fertilizers Company.But income from investments increased by 53%,which was in itself an excellent performance.
