The French company Veolia Environnement has announced the signing of a long-term strategic partnership agreement with Qatari Diar, a subsidiary of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), which provides, among other things, for Qatari Diar to acquire a 5% shareholding in Veolia. "The acquisition of this stake in Veolia Environnement's capital reflects the two groups' mutual ambition to work together on infrastructure and utilities projects in the Middle East and North Africa," explained Veolia in a statement. "In the longer term, the partnership could also be extended to those countries in which the Qatari Diar fund has developed its presence."
