BP Thinks the Khazzan-Makarem Fields Could Produce at Least 1 Billion Cu Ft/Day of Gas

BP has started to test the first well it drilled at the Khazzan and Makarem gas fields, and according to the General Manager of BP Oman, Mr. Jonathan Evans, as quoted by AP, the company is now thinking in terms of a rate of production of at least 1 billion cubic feet per day. To highlight the significance of that potential, Mr. Evans pointed out that the sultanate's natural gas production was currently running at around 2 to 3 billion cu ft/day. In theory, this rate of output could rise by around 50%.
