Hungary's MOL Calls Oman Oil Company to the Rescue to Stave Off the Unwanted Attentions of OMV

While the Austrian company OMV has been assiduously pursuing it for some months,the Hungarian company MOL has equally fiercely resisted this unwanted attempt to take control of it and has now lit a new fire-break by throwing itself into the arms of Oman Oil Company SAOC (OOC).On 10 March the two companies concluded a strategic cooperation agreement that calls among other things for OOC to acquire an 8% shareholding in MOL in exchange for the Hungarian company's purchasing some OOC assets located outside the Sultanate of Oman.
