Chinese state-controlled coal firms made a profit in June,reversing a recent period of losses, the country’s financeministry said.The companies made a combined profit of 620mn yuan($99.87mn) in January-June, according to finance ministrydata. The ministry did not provide monthly data on industryprofits, but previous reports show year-to-date cumulativeprofits remained negative during January-May — indicatingthat the firms achieved a large turnaround last month.
