Accuracy of official data. The new registration statistics are compiled from the vehicle licensing authority and/or industry associations in each country. Readers should bear in mind that the figures shown reflect vehicles newly registered as passenger cars. This is not necessarily the same as the number of new cars being put on the road nor is it necessarily the same as car sales.
