Design and Implementation of an Online Students Registration System for Ghana Embassy in China

摘要

My project is about an Online Registration System for Ghanaian Students that would phase out totally,the paper based record keeping of Students done by the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in China.
　　Every year Ghanaian students all over China are requested by the Embassy of Ghana in China through National Union Of Ghanaian Students(NUGs)to download a registration form from the Embassy's website,print it out,fill it and send copies to NUGs executives in their colleges to be presented to the Embassy in Beijing.The information on these forms are then keyed into an excel sheet document by personnel at the Embassy of Ghana in Beijing,China.
　　What my project seeks to achieve is an Online Students Registration System(OSRS)system which will help the Embassy of Ghana in China through NUGs-China,to manage the information of Ghanaian students in China.The system will run from two user role perspectives,the Administrative User and the Student User but information gathered from the Student User through the Registration Module would be used to design the Report Module of this system which is to aid in the pure administrative work of the Embassy.Excel,JSON,Bar Graph and Pie Chart statistical data on students can be obtained from this module.The last module in this project is the Messaging Module through which the users of the system will be able to correspond with each other.
　　The steps I would take to develop the software include gathering of information,building the database and use cases,building the application using Java,CSS,HTML,JavaScript,MySQL and running this project on an Apache Tomcat Server.The end product to be delivered will be an Online Students Registration System for Ghana Embassy in China.
　　I envision that the software I would come up with will be improved upon in my future post graduate work to take on other Embassy's of Ghana in other Foreign Countries as well as other African Embassies here in China.
