Boost in areas and yields keeps USA on course for bigger corn harvest

The situation has changed significantly on the corn market of the United States since mid Aug. Boost in yields together with increased areas under corn trigger optimistic outlook for the future harvest of the commodity. So, corn production is now expected to reach 380.927 million tonnes in the USA in the 2021-22 marketing year. Note that the USDA’s Aug report forecasted corn production to total 374.67 mmt (down 6.25 mmt compared with the current estimates). The projected exports increased by 1.5 mmt to 62.5 mmt during a month.
