摘要

Nutrionally balanced, cost effective and readily acceptable feed that promotes optimum growth and survival of shrimp and fish fry is a prime requirement in aquaculture operations, In the dietary regime of farmed shrimp and fishes, live food organismsplay an important role particularly in their larval phase. Therefore, regular and assured supply of right food organisms in large quantities is a key factor in the successful hatchery management. Among the known live food organisms, nauplii of the brineshrimp Artemia have been reported as the best larval feed for both fish and shellfish because of their many desirable qualities including high protein content.
