摘要

Large numbers of solar saltworks are located in the coastal line of 18,000 km of China. The total area of the costal saltworks was expanded to 408,367 ha in 2004. The particular ecological and climatic conditions of the solar saltworks created a diversity of living organisms which are rich in salt ponds, brine shrimp Artemia is one of these organisms and plays an important role in the biological system of solar saltworks. And it has been exploited as a food source for aquaculture during past several decades. The current research trends and application of the brine shrimp Artemia was introduced in this paper.
