Prices to stay largely unchanged until middle of summer

In May, domestic scrap prices stayed virtually unchanged in Ukraine. Despite unfavourable situation in the global market for steel products, a decline in supply made consumers abandon cutting scrap buying prices. The only downward adjustment was practically nominal (around 1%), rather being a statement of steelmakers' refusal to give in to scrap suppliers. As a result, the average monthly price dropped by 3% amid gradual adjustments in the previous month.
