ExxonMobil restarts Baton rouge anode coker

ExxonMobil has restarted the small coking unit at its 500,000 b/d Baton Rouge, Louisiana, refnery because of improved demand for refned products in the US Gulf. The company idled the coker about a year ago because of weak transportation fuels demand. The coker typically produces an anode-grade coke with around 4pc sulphur and 400ppm vanadium, with a capacity of about 400,000t/yr. ExxonMobil restarted the unit earlier this month.
