Cinmethylin is the first active ingredient in the new HRAC mode of action class “Group Q” or “30”, which stands for the inhibition of the enzyme family fatty acid thioesterase (FAT). These enzymes are vital for plant cell membrane development and function, BASF notes. Their inhibition disrupts germination and the emergence of grass weeds.
