Evonik Industries develops ethylene- based MMA production technology

Evonik Industries says it is working to develop a new process called LiMA to produce methyl methacrylate (MMA), used in Evonik’s Plexiglas polymethyl methacrylate, among others. LiMA is the most efcient MMA production technology developed so far, says Stefen Krill, head of methacrylates innovation management. The process is currently being tested at a pilot plant at Darmstadt, Germany.
